Making Change at Walmart seeks to challenge Walmart, the largest private employer in the world, and the Waltons, owners of Walmart, to be better employers and neighbors. As a coalition, we work to support Walmart workers with the Organization United for Respect at Walmart, OUR Walmart, as they call for fair pay, access to full-time work and respect on the job. We believe that by changing Walmart, we can help rebuild our economy and strengthen working families. Over the last year, we have supported workers as they stood up to Walmart and won major changes at the company. Under pressure from workers and their supporters, Walmart created a program to give workers access to open shifts and more hours, improved its pregnancy policy and even announced plans to phase out minimum wage at the company. While these are significant gains, workers continue to stand up for $15 and access to full-time hours so they can support their families. The coalition will continue to support Walmart workers and hold the Waltons accountable for the impacts they are having on our community, be they economic, environmental or social.
